I paired an OC with a Canon! I'm going to Hell!

Well... Its been a long time since I made stamps. Since it is 2016, I thought I should make more stamps. However, there will be times when my stamps might be vents over topics even regarding to fandoms. Don't worry, I won't rant constantly, but if I ever get bottled up, I just want to vent it out on stamps than just journals. Plus, this is a big topic I always wanted to vent out for a while and I thought it be my chance to do so.

Anyways, have you guys ever notice that canon extremists or in this case, OC X Canon haters are more obnoxious/fanbratty and rabid than the OC x Canon (Or FC x Canon if people prefer it that way) shippers themselves? Even when the OC X Canon shipper unintentionally gets supporters of their ship WITHOUT forcing people to ship, these canon fanatics still accuse them for "Shoving a pairing" down their throats? Even if the OC/Canon shipper just ships for the sake of fun/enjoyment rather than trying to seek attention, the canon nazis still get butthurt about it? Even when the OC isn't a mary-sue, but well developed character that has a fitting story, flaws, and is more than just a love interest for the canon, these canon fanatics still accuse the OC being a plain self insert and mary-sue for wish fulfillment. (Same can even apply to Self-inserts/Personas shipped with canons )

It's very annoying, OC X Canon shippers always get more shit from canon fanatics than any other shipper. Hell, there are even other fanon shippers that would bash these type of pairings for "being OOC and not canon" yet they themselves ship fanon pairings. Hypocritical much? Look guys, I am also a picky shipper and there's even OC x Canon pairings I don't like. (Personally, I just don't like some of them if they're poorly written or are just there for fanatasies and nothing more than that) However, I also seen many good OC X Canon pairings in fandoms I've been in along with some of my friends' pairings. Why you ask? Because unlike most OC x Canon shippers the canon fanatics bitch about, these kind actually do their research on the canon to make sure their relationship with the OC is compatible, put time and effort for their relationship to grow, add their little sparks to the canon without making them super OOC, and hell... Some of them are even better written than most pairings you see in canon works of today. Even of they did make an OC for the sake of pairing, they still at least try to expand the character to make it work in the universe.

Just like with any other pairing, you just got to dig up treasure underneath a pile of trash. Though for some reason, the rabid haters can't seem to think about this by their logic. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about the OC/Canon haters that just hate ships in general. It's normal to hate certain type of pairings, just like how people don't like yaoi/yuri, canon, crack, fanon, or whatever. Just as long as they have a reason than "Baaaaw its not canon!", I see nothing wrong with that. But I'm mostly aiming this at the Rabid OC/Canon haters that blindly shame these shippers because they're too buthurt to realize that not everyone has to ship only canon.

Here's all the stupid excuses I ever here from these butthurt cry babies who get their panties in a wad over fictional pairings:

"Baaaawww but its not canon! Therefore, the ship is terrible! How dare they fuck up canon!" - You're fucking point? Not everyone has to ship just canon pairings or canon characters together you know. People mainly do this to explore new pairings besides the popular ones in fandoms, just like how there's yaoi/yuri, crack, crossover, and other fanon shippers who ship just because its fun to explore more than just canon pairings. Besides, even canon universes can fuck up things too, your precious canon isn't perfect either.

"Baaaawww but fangirls always pair their OCs with pretty boys and anime bishies!!! They're so shallow!!!"- Oh God, just fucking stop that. That is NOT always true, that's just plain stereotyping. Sure, it may be annoying to see shallow people to pair their OC with a popular favorite canon or just because looks alone. However, that's not always true. Some people would ship their OCs with minor characters, underrated characters that deserve more love, and hell... Even ugly/monstrous characters. Sure sometimes attractive characters too... However, they ship them with these kind MAINLY because of theit personality and portrayal than just looks alone. BTW, anime isn't the only thing that has OC X Canon ships, people from cartoons (whether Western or Indie animation), video games, comic books, and novels have these shippers too.
For an example, I like to ship one of my OC Mistress Myrna with Lord Hater from Wander Over Yonder. Yes, the cartoon is very underrated and Hater may be stupid at times and isn't some dull pretty boy. But let me explain, I ship them basically because he has so much personality in the shows, is very goofy but hilarious, he has flaws as well as strengths, he's a skeleton and I always had a thing for skeleton characters. Another example is two OC/Canon ships in the TMNT fandom which are Kiko/Leatherhead and Darkwave/Bebop. Unlike most fans who ship their OCs with the four main turtles. Yes the turtles are cute and all, but I honestly felt like the other mutants deserve more love. The reason why I ship Kiko with Leatherhead is not just because my love for reptile characters, but he's very strong, very kind hearted, actually gives a shit about his friends, gets called out for his PTSD/Angsty moments, has flaws as well as positive traits, can be intelligent, and despite being a scary beast by appearance, he's very misunderstood and does the best he can to help his friends save NY. As for shipping Darkwave with Bebop, he may be a villain, but he's pretty hilarious in the 1987 and 2012 series. I mean, he's got so much personality to him and is a very fun character than most of the footclan members. Just like any other fan, people don't like characters for their looks alone, but like them for their performance, personality, and characterization. And simply, because they can relate to these characters. Sure, the shallow fans who like a character soley for popularity and looks can get annoying, but not all the OC/Canon shippers do that. It's just called having taste.

"Baaaawww but they ship their OC with a canon that has a canon crush/relationship with another canon!! It's disrespectful to the creators!!!" - Unless the Canon pairing wasn't broken from the start or if the Creators have problem with fanon, its not always the case. Guys, have you consider maybe the OC/Canon shippers don't ship some canon pairings that were broken from the start due to mediocore and poor writing? Or the lack of Chemistry both of the canons had together? Or maybe they thought the chemistry between both canons were very rushed or have a very shallow relationship? Or worse, one canon abused and treated the other like shit to where these fans would rather ship one of them with an OC because they pity for that character and don't support abusive relationships? Or maybe one of the canons was a big mary-sue/gary stu that had no purpose than just being a doormat/love interest which would make the OC more suitable for the canon? Or maybe shipping just the same canon gets very boring and these shippers want to have their interpretation of one of the canons? Or maybe the canon crush has no feelings for the other canon and just treats them like shit or just sees them as a friend?
Guys, these are good reasons I've seen and are understandable why some people ship their OCs with these type of canons. Believe it or not, canon couples are no better than fanon ships. Some can be poorly executed where they make Twilight a masterpiece or can be very boring just to only ship. Plus, some can see these canons along with their canon crushers or canon partner better off as just friends than lovers. I personally don't ship Sonsal and that's canon in Sonic Archie comics, but that was because I thought it was poorly written since the two are too opposite to another and just seem better off as friends. I don't like the idea of Hater and Dominator being a canon ship in WoY mainly because it seems cliche and somewhat shallow and abusive. While both are good villains, that doesn't mean they're compatible. Heck, even when people don't support canon LGBT ships in this situation, they get accused of being a homophobe. That's not always true, even canon LGBT relationships can come off as cliche and unrealistic as well. Not everyone who ships their OC with a canon that has a canon love interest is a jealous fangirl/fanboy/:I
FYI, most creators don't give a fuck about who ships who with who, mainly because they're just fictional pairings.

"Baaaawwww why can't they make OCs of their own to ship instead!!! OC X OC ships are better!!!" - Guys, I too also love OC x OC pairings too and I agree it can be fun to see more of those. However, sometimes people feel very uncomfortable to ship their OCs with other people's OCs. Because unlike canon authors, fanon authors tend to worry about people sexualizing their OCs, seeing them in absusive relationships, or just don't want their OC to be paired with a poorly written OC for the lack of Chemistry. Believe me, I used to ship one of my fandom OCs with someone else's OC once... However, I felt uncomfortable with it because my OC is aeromantic and isn't one who's interested in romance. The other OC is very opposite of her and despite their love for dark magic, they had NOTHING in common at all. It made my OC very OOC so I had to talk to the other person's creator and we had to split them up. I don't like it when people force romance on my OCs with theirs, even if they like my OCs for shallow reasons. This is why I prefer shipping some of them with canons, with friend's OCs that can relate to mine, make OCs to ship them with, or make them lone wolves instead. Also, keep in mind people do ship OC x canon for a writing practice just in case if they want to make their own original OC/OC pairing in their universe for future purposes, they can be prepared of what do do/not to do when writing relationships. Even with people base their OC x OC ships of of them along with their boyfriend/girlfriend, sometimes that won't always make it better than OC/Canon ships since most couples doesn't last long together.:I

Baaaawww but they're shoving them down my throat!!! This shit is everywhere I go!!!" - Unless they are rabid shippers and fantards that try to force their your OC/Canon on you, get very possessive of the same canon you ship with another character, or bash your ships, just simply just uploading/drawing and writing these pairings are NOT them shoving down your throats. Guys, there's a difference between being dedicated to a ship you love and being a complete fanbratty asshole who can't respect opinions. As an OC x Canon shipper myself and while some shippers and I share the same canon we ship our OCs with, I had come across fanbratty fangirls who basically bully those other OC/Canon shippers because they ship the same canon. Hell, they would go far and go "baaaaaw you can't have him he's mine111" I mean c'mon, I may fangirl over characters but being possessive over them is pretty selfish and imature to do. And no matter what, they alway belong to their respectful owners. Hell, I even seen some who make people feel like shit for shipping a canon with another canon to where they try to force their pairing on others. Those examples I mentioned are shoving something down your throat. However, people who generally upload art or fanfics of pairings and adding them in group isn't the same as shoving it down your throat. And who cares its everywhere you go? Personally, I get tired of seeing yaoi and my NOTPs everywhere I go, but I'm not gonna throw a bitch fit about it. Instead, I let people ship their thing and move along. Plus, if your that butthurt to see this everywhere, then GTFO the internet. Funny how these canon fanatics bitch about OC/Canon being shoved down they're throat, when they're the ones shoving canon down your throat.

Baaaawww fangirls/fanboys are delusional when they fall for fictional characters!!!" - Can I be honest? There is NOTHING wrong with finding fictional characters attractive or loving them. Plus, some of these fans are aware that they are fictional and know things like this will never happen, but they simply like being creative and just have fandom fun. And there's nothing wrong with fangirling/fanboying over things, just as long as they don't act like rabid douche about it. Plus, isn't enjoying things much better than being a hateful ranting lunatic who ruin other people's fun? Okay, now don't get me wrong. I am aware that there are some fans that do have an unhealthy obsession with characters and need a break from fantasy every now and then, but not every fan is delusional. For me, I crush on many different characters, but I also tend to fangirl over musicians/actors, and sometimes guys I know IRL. However, some people such as myself don't want to date due to personal reasons and not because "fictional boys are better than real boys". I mean, relationships IRL seem very stressful and I want to accomplish things first before I think about that stuff. That's why I enjoy shipping OC/Canon shippings because it helps relive my stress over lots of things I struggle with. And even if people draw smut, write lemon stories of their OC/Canon ships, or fantasize about them... its actually pretty healthy since it does help relieve stress and release sexual frustration. Plus, people prefer to fantasize over fictional characters simply because like me, I think its pretty creepy to lust and sexualize people IRL and very disrespectful. I'm not saying they can't find people IRL attractive, but sometimes I think its better with fictional characters simply because they're fictional and not real. (Well, as long as the fans can distinguish reality and fantasy and don't end up like Chris-Chan, Yoshi-Wii1, or Paulamy )

"Baaaawww but the mary-sues!!! THEY ALWAYS HAVE MARY-SUES!!!" - Any type of pairing can have mary-sues! Even canon works have mary-sues! Period. Not to mention, canon gary-stus can also exist in canon works. And instead of bullying the shippers and OC makers for having poorly written ships, try to encourage them and point out the flaws in their pairing/OC and what they can to do make the shipping more better. (Unless of course, if they can't stand criticism and accuse you for bullying/harassment you for helping them out ) Do not try to convert them to be a canon shipper, it just won't work. You can also give them tips of what to write and not write about in a relationship. Is it really that hard to be more encouraging and helpful than being a whiny prick? As much as I hate mary-sues, there are things in fandoms much worse than mary-sues. (Hell, SJWs, nostalgia tards, and canon fanatics are worse from my own experience in fandoms)

"Baaaawww but I still don't like OC X canon pairings!!!"- And that is totally okay. It's normal to not like OC X Canon like any other type of ship, its part of being human after all. Not everyone has to ship everything and not everyone is a multi-shipper, I get that. Just please stop overreacting, you guys need to learn to respect shippings and stop shaming people for what they ship.

TL;DR: Canon fanatics seem to care so much and get worked over these things. Let people ship what they fucking want, you guys are making a big deal over fictional pairings of fictional characters. As long as they're not glorifying abuse, romanticizing rape, or supporting pedophilia, OC x Canon is harmless for the most part. Let people have fanon fun and be creative in their fandom for once.:I
If any OC X Canon shipper or even a sane shipper who doesn't care for these but respect these shippers, feel free to use this stamp.

Please keep your comments mature, I will block them if I see drama.

The hate my OC Rose got for this made me want to redo her until a friend said they like her as she is. Want proof there are canon Mary Sues? Look no further than Bella from the Twilight Saga and Rey from the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy!
