Kung Fu Panda: Aleta Orona - Concept Sketches

Well yeah not many know this but this honestly isn't the first Kung Fu Panda character I came up with....  I actually had one before known as "Luli Len" and is a Siamese cat but eh....  Not gonna give a link here since I haven't drawn much of her plus her design is so outdated and.....  very bad background story just looking back at it.  So yeah Luli is originally my main OC for KFP but since she's more of a villain, there was something missing...  I sort of wanted an OC that's at least on the good side and is an alley to the Furious Five so yeah....  I made Luli her own character and came up with this cutie to be my little persona.X3  I was honestly inspired by my DA sis since she's getting me into KFP again and of course her persona she made as well.

   

But this persona she made isn't really from China, she's actually Indian.  After reading about this character, she said that it would be more fun if fans can make OCs from other countries with different cultural backgrounds other than Chinese.


So yup, this little chica is a little Mexican like me since well...  She is my persona after all.  (yes I know I tend to make many Hispanic/Latino ocs, but those are usually the ones I base myself off of)


Ok her name is Aleta Orona (which Aleta means Little noble, but she prefers to be called by her nicknames Ale or Leta) and her species is a Mexican Free-tailed Bat. She's basically a little traveler that loves to go on adventures and explore the world out there.  Of course her country does face many dangerous outlaws and other issues, so her life stile isn't exactly that big.  Ale actually grew up in the ghetto part of the lower class in her country and she often had to help out her family since they pretty much try to sell some traditional merchandise.(Kind of like the king you would see in some Hispanic Festivals)  So her role back in her home country, Ale pretty much was a deliver and would try to deliver all these different items for shipping.  She honestly grew bored of working as a deliver and was hoping to travel out there to explore the world in hope she can help bring wealth/support for her family.  As the time when she got a bit older as a young adult, she had a very long talk with her father about her migrating from Mexico to explore the world.  Well he was pretty strict and would forbid her to step out of Mexico since the world can be a dangerous place, until her mother tried to assure him that she's old enough to make her choices.  As much as he didn't like the idea of seeing his daughter leaving the country to explore, he had a long month to consider it.  And after all that thinking, he allowed her to cross the boarder but only when the weather changes when it's time to migrate.  This really did get Ale very much excited as she gathered many things, but her mother help provided her with many things on her journey as she goes off with the other bats that plan to migrate to other places.


So after all that, she traveled through many places as if she wanted freedom for so long.  Until she recently heard about the many dangerous incidents and wars in China which gave her a bit of curiosity to figure out what was going on.  As she flew for a year, she finally arrived at China to the home where Po's town was at.  Ale was a bit nervous since she was browsing around so she can learn and look deep into China and their culture.  Though there has been a rampage in the village since some prisoners where attacking those innocent villagers, she couldn't lay back there and decided to take some action.  Though that's until they took her down really good and even mocked her due to her size.  That's until the Furious Five were battling them for the safety of the village, all of this fighting did amaze Ale very much to see how skill full these fighters were compared to the ones back at home.  After wiping out those outlaws, Po noticed how badly injured Ale was and snuck her in to see if Viper can help heal her wounds.  Unfortunately did they got caught by Tigress and Shifu when they found her sleeping under the rooftop.  Po told Shifu what happened to her back in the village and even said that she was an immigrate from another country and it would have been bad to let her wander off alone without a home.  Ale was hearing their discussion as she came out and was explaining why and how she came here.  Heck she even begged if she can learn how to help fight along with them, though she wasn't exactly skillful as the others nor was an experienced fighter since she was more of a traveler.  Though there are times when Mantis would help her out since they are pretty much the same size and would educate her about the arts of Kung Fu.  It really wasn't that much fun for her since she tends to goof off and imagine adventures like a little kid.  But she does often help them out just to spy on what's going on out there just in case if some evil is coming to China.  She's pretty much an outgoing and active girl who does get along very well with Po, Viper, Crane, and Mantis.  As for Tigress, she just likes to tease around with her like an older sister though she does find her a bit too childish.  Shifu does tend to get frustrated with her and all the different stories of her traveling to the others, but he did remind her of her grandfather.XD


Yes this is a pretty suckish background, but I'll do more updates on it since the new movie doesn't come out until 2016.  And she's actually wearing a pancho since she's not fond of Hispanic dresses unless if it's a special occasion.  Lmao pouty bat face on the right end corner since I can imagine her using that face to beg for things from Master Shifu.X3   But damn...  who knew drawing a bat in the KFP style is hard....  I mean I kept looking for references and such and I did find some KFP characters that were bats and looked great in the style but ehhh...  I can't stand stealing ideas from others.  So finding references was the tricky part with her design, forgive me if she doesn't look like a Mexican Free-tailed bat.


And no, she actually doesn't really have a love interest since she rather stays single and is a free spirited girl.  Though there will be times that she'll gain fangirl crushes on some of the members from Kung Fu Masters.XD  But eh, I plan on making her single since she's still a young adult like me and honestly hates being tied down.  (though Luli is paired with a certain snow leopard~)


Please critique me so I can draw her in the KFP style better DX
